2001
by Dr. Dre
Little know facts
The album was originally titled “Chronic 2000,” but due to a trademark dispute with Death Row Records, it was renamed to “2001” after a legal agreement.
The album features a star-studded lineup of guest artists, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit, and Nate Dogg, among others.
Despite some initial doubts about Dr. Dre’s career trajectory, “2001” became his best-selling album, moving over 7.6 million copies in the U.S. alone.
Play
by Moby
Little know facts
When “Play” was first released, it sold only around 6,000 copies worldwide in its first week. However, it eventually became the biggest-selling electronica album of all time.
The album’s tracks were widely licensed for movies, TV shows, and commercials, which played a significant role in its commercial breakthrough.
Moby recorded the album in his home studio in Manhattan, and it was initially intended to be his final record before he considered quitting music
