Scarlet’s Walk and OK Computer

Week #15 – April 24

Tori Amos was inspired by her Cherokee heritage and the stories her grandfather told her. The album reflects her deep dive into Native American history and spirituality, which she researched extensively before creating the album.

The album’s packaging included Polaroid-esque photography by Kurt Markus and was also released as a limited-edition box set with bonus content. This added a personal and artistic touch to the album’s presentation

The song “Lucky” was recorded in just five hours for a War Child charity album, two years before the rest of OK Computer. The band loved the spontaneity of the recording and aimed to capture that same feeling throughout the rest of the album.
